The DMSP is a non-profit making music sponsorship program approved by the Community Welfare Projects Foundation (CWPF). As an organization which is capable of raising funds and supports from different corporations and individuals, the DMSP aims to provide students with the best and the most comprehensive music education.
Directed initially at schools, the DMSP aims to promote music gradually to the community of Hong Kong. Besides, the DMSP supports the music arena in the provisions of free or subsidized costs of information in relation to music training and learning. To encourage and train more qualified instructors and future star performers, the DMSP also offers scholarships for the DMSP students of different stages.
The goal of the DMSP is to sponsor 60 primary schools, secondary schools, kindergartens and registered associations every year with their stringed instrument, piano and desk bell (hand bell) curriculum. Besides, the DMSP also assists schools in setting up school orchestra.
In November 2002, the DMSP was officially confirmed as an approved long term music sponsorship project of the Community Welfare Projects Foundation (CWPF), a charitable institution of a public character which has been entitled to exemption under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance since 1985. Throughout the last two decades CWPF has engaged in many community projects covering music activities, social distress, water safety, medical and community events. |
